Day One

A recent tragedy has left Layla with diminished self-esteem and forces her to suddenly oversee her father’s grand hotel, The Remington. A chronic people-pleaser and daddy’s girl at heart, she finds herself not only struggling to run the resort but also stuck in a toxic, quasi-engagement with the Remington’s newly appointed Chief of Staff. Charles might be all wrong for Layla but he has already and overwhelmingly won her father’s approval, which she is afraid to lose. As Charles digs his claws deeper into the family business, Layla wavers internally between her unhappiness and her loyalty to her father. She needs something big and strong to convince her to put her own needs first, for once, and that she is worthy of a true, loving relationship. Or someone big and strong.
Enter Rex.

Recognizing all the amazing qualities that Layla has recently become blind to, Rex falls quickly for the woman, frustrated that he can’t have her. Rex sees straight through Charles to his nefarious motives. When he learns that the future of the hotel’s ownership is at stake, he decides to shake things up at the Remington. With help from an eclectic yoga instructor, quirky bartender, and gossipy housekeeper, Rex hatches a plan to prove his suspicions about Charles and finally convince Layla to follow her heart. Can this cast of wild and misfit characters work together to save the Remington from its demise? Can Layla find herself again and finally make the correct choice, the one her heart already made back on day one?
